As its name implies, Kaboodle integrates the functionality of several other standalone utiities which, on their own, are a bit trickier to use. We like to think that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
The current version of Kaboodle is built to work with the following components:
VNC
- For remote-control of another device on your LAN or on an engaged parter's LAN, Kaboodle uses the free, open-source VNC viewer and server combination. If you have it installed already, Kaboodle will automatically detect it and use it. If you don't, click here to get a copy.
WinPCAP
- To quickly and quietly detect when a new network device joins your LAN, Kaboodle uses the free, open-source WinPCAP packet capture library. If you have it installed already, Kaboodle will automatically detect it and use it. If you don't, click here to get a copy.
Zebedee
- To securely connect one LAN with another across the Internet, Kaboodle uses the free, open-source Zebedee encrypted tunnel utility. Kaboodle requires the Zebedee binary be installed in the same installation directory as the "Kaboodle.exe" file. To get a copy of the pre-compiled binary, click here.
If you have any ideas, suggestions or requests for other applications that Kaboodle should work with, please let us know!
